Basically the engine is dead. I’m fairly confident that the cam and/or rod bearings are destroyed and It’ll probably end up costing more to fix it than the truck is worth even if I do it myself. Might see if I can find a donor truck. Or just unload it for a few Benjamins.
I mean I would love to slam it and lay frame but I already have enough cars and I’m young and have plenty of time left to do the crazy things I want to do. Plus S10's aren’t rare around here so its not like I have to hang on to this one truck for years.
In the end I think I put about $300 into it.

find a nearly free 305 v8, and re-ring, bearing, valveseal it, and get a nearly free turbo 350 transmission, and HAVE AT IT. itll be like a greased roller skate.

Why not swap it with...anything? Literally any running truck is worth $2-2500 around me (and in most places) so even at $1000 of work it’s worth it.

If You Can’t Fix It, Part It Out
